My Dear Christian Folk: Evidence clearly suggests that Church attendance is declining and there is a general falling away from the traditional avenues of Christian teachings and practice.
While this may be true ;the popularity of Christianity as a personal belief system is in fact gaining ground round the world.
Other religions may compete for the hearts and minds in certain primitive parts of the globe but it’s The Christian Faith that eventually wins out in the long term.
For many in the third world ,Christianity represents a passport into a new modern and more economically secure future :given its traditional American and European roots.
For others Faith in Christ represents a chance to obtain forgiveness,salvation and a future of eternal bliss.
Whereas this is certainly something that mankind has longed and deeply desired ;but for the individual it remains tucked away in the back of one’s psyche ;something like a ‘get out of jail free card.’
It’s there ,if and when you need it.- salvation is great but heaven can wait-
For many in the modern world Christianity or more precisely – a personal relationship with Jesus Christ- represents a chance to obtain A Dear Friend , A Confidant, A Good Listener , A Companion , A Comrade,A Leader , A Warlord.
–All the things that are missing in the lives of a people harried about and enmeshed in all the impersonality and falsehoods our current American Society can dish out everyday for public Consumption. –
When you need a friend,whom are you going to call on? Jesus is a friend that remains closer than a brother!
A true good friend is a rare commodity .People who believe they have friends are usually disabused of the notion when problems arise and the truth sets in.When they find themselves betrayed and abandoned.
So when you have a problem do you think you can talk it over with the love of your life :your spouse?
What about one’s father or any close relative. ?
How about a neighbor or Dear Pastor?
The truth is ,the better people know you the less likely they are to be of any help when things get tough.
If you are a married man and let’s say you had a bad day at the shop ;you got a little hot under the collar ;you told a few people off ;
you made some uncalled for remarks aimed at the boss ;and now you think you can approach your Dear little homemaker and mother of your dear children and spill it all out?
If you do then you are nothing but a fool!
Revealing to a woman your inner hurt feelings ;showing her the deep turmoil you have been experiencing ;your inability to cope with stress and hardships[tough times] is the best and fastest way to lose her respect for you as a man ,not to mention as husband and father of her children.
Allowing your wife to see you in a state of emotional agitation is a guarantee that your marriage will soon be on the rocks;possibly divorce court as soon as your young children are grown ,if not sooner.
A woman admires a real man,not someone who runs to Mommy when someone deflates his ego and breaks his balloon.And that’s exactly how she sees things.
She sees you as someone who still needs his momma to pick him up and wash his face after the bullies at school rubbed mud and dog feces
on it.
She doesn’t want a man who uses his wife and lover as a substitute Mommy or nanny.
Women want a guy who will conquer them and defeat any and all who challenge his authority.
Depending on her social status ,it means holding one’s own ;whether
it be intellectually,financially,socially or with just the nosy neighbors ;it means keeping your cool and taking charge.
Of course if your wife’s social status is that of a Biker’s Chick then you must safe face at all costs.
At the drop of any snide remark from a rival biker or a drop of a crescent wrench ;you must be a real man.
My Dear Christian Folk:
Ever think of telling your wife you have been seeing some little hottie on the side ,just to get it off your chest and in the spirit of Christian honesty and confession?
Another big mistake that may have unintended consequences such as a violent episode taking place between you and the little lady.
Let’s turn it round and play what if–What if it’s the mother of your children that reveals to you that her premarital experiences consisted of more than just a couple of times in the back seat of Billy Bob’s stationwagon at a time of youthful indiscretion?
If she were to tell you that before marrying she had been deeply involved with a few guys –that in fact she was head over heels with at least two of them?
–That in fact she was a very experienced woman in love making and in fact she had only been pretending otherwise. But in the spirit of Christian love she was ‘fessing up’ ,hoping to relieve her feelings of guilt.
How do you think you would react,my Dear Christian?
Of course she would be making a serious mistake.The woman you thought you married has now revealed a side of her that puts a totally different light on things.
Would you have married her ,had you know of her past life?
Yes or no is not as important as the feelings of having been deceived,even tricked.
While you may forgive will you ever forget the confession of guilt?
And what sort of effect will it have on the remaining years of your marriage?
Chances are it will cause serious havoc and possibly lead you to drugs or alcohol use ;in a vain attempt to hide the sense of betrayal and the lingering confusion that begins to haunt you day and night.
Can you go to your pastor for help when things begin to overwhelm you?
I hardly think so. In fact the Pastor of the church ,you and your family have been attending, is probably the last person you want to reveal anything personal to.Not a good idea.If you do you will regret it!
Forever after he will relegate you to the damaged goods bin and your reputation will be at stake until you move and find another church.
What need does a Pastor have with someone who let’s say has a problem viewing xxx rated porn?
Do you think he will have you lead the youth for Christ ministry of his church.?
In other words revealing any personal flaw to anyone other than Jesus in solemn prayer is a big mistake that you will sorely regret.
It all goes back to the cracked water pot theory.
The pot may still be nice to look at but no one will buy it.
Whereas speaking to Jesus and telling Him all there is has the benefit that you will never be betrayed or revealed ,it isn’t quite the same as speaking with a real flesh and blood person.
Here one can only use the power of inspiration that comes from His spiritual presence and the benefits accrue in direct proportion to what exists in your heart and mind.
But the end result can be as satisfying as one receives from speaking to the best of friends ,if not much better yet.
In good times and in bad Jesus is our Good Comrade ;He’s always on our right.
He always covers our back!
When the bullets fly , when the enemy attacks ,He is there ,catching what was meant for us. He is The Best Comrade one can have!
He is the Best Leader one can have.In good times and in bad.
He is the drum that calls us to fight.
He summons all able-bodied to join Him in the struggle against the enemies of all mankind,:the enemies of all religion;the enemies of all that is decent and true;the enemies of The Gospel .
My Dear Christian Folk: Stay clear of those who pretend to be of the Christian Faith but consort with the enemies of Christ.
Beware the deceivers and professional swindlers that curry favor with the present day pharisees that still walk among us.
Whenever they make their pitch for your support keep in mind the fact that they will never reveal the truth to you.
They understand well the ‘cracked water pot theory’
They know well that if they confessed their sins they would more than likely lose the support they receive.
This is true in the Clergy as well as the professional scam artists that proliferate on all the so-called Christian Broadcast Networks.
A good case in point is the notorious call-in program called CROSSTALK ,produced by the VCY AMERICA NETWORK.
Can you imagine if the ring-leader of this gang of con artists were to admit he has been routinely swindling his listening audience for the past
40 years and the outcry that it would produce on the part of those who had been naively supporting his on the air swindle?
Mr.Vic Eliason and his equally conniving daughter INGRID SCHLUETER
have been doing exactly that and have been getting away with it due to their presentation as being as pure as the wind driven snow.
Remember that Jim and Tammy Faye Baker never admitted guilt to anything .
Until that is when JIM BAKER finally heard the sound of his cell door slamming shut behind him.
Equally with Jimmy Swaggert and Ted Haggart.
And now with Gov. Sanford and the story goes on.
Everone is astonished ,how could it be?
Do not support the on the air swindlers such as Vic Eliason,Ingrid Schlueter ,Jim Schneider Or the paid stooge Mr. Brannon Howse in any amount.
They are simply professional liars and deceiving you everyday!
